Discover the history and distinctive architecture of Alvar, Aino and Elissa Aalto’s unique home. The one-hour visit includes a guided tour in Finnish, free time to enjoy the house’s special atmosphere and possibility to browse the museum shop.

The guided tour starts promptly at the time indicated on your ticket at Riihitie 20, Helsinki. We recommend arriving by public transport, for example by tram number 4.

Please note that if you purchase a discounted ticket, proof of eligibility (student card, Docomomo card) must be presented during the visit. Each tour accommodates 15 participants. Advance ticket sales in the online shop close 15 minutes before the tour begins, and any remaining tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets are non-refundable, so please choose your visit time carefully. In case of problems, you can contact us by email at hello@alvaraalto.fi.

The guide will open the door a few minutes before the tour starts. There is no indoor waiting area at the House, but while waiting you can explore the garden. Visitors are kindly asked to remove their shoes during the tour to protect the original interior.

We recommend pairing your visit with Studio Aalto, located just a short walk from the Aalto House.

Please be aware that the site has limited accessibility. The entrance includes stairs, and accessing the studio side requires a few steps inside. There is no elevator to the second floor.

By visiting Alvar Aalto Foundation sites, you are supporting the foundation’s work to preserve Alvar Aalto’s material and immaterial heritage.
