Customer

The customer agrees to comply with these terms as well as the merchant-specific terms when purchasing products and services in the Alvar Aalto Foundation’s online services.

Ordering

General Terms

  • The prices displayed in the online service include VAT.

  • We sell products to private individuals of legal age as well as corporate customers.

  • We reserve the right to change the prices.

  • The customer is responsible for the accuracy of the information they provide.

  • We reserve the right to change our delivery terms. Before placing an order, the customer must review the delivery terms valid at that time.


Reservation Terms

These terms apply to products and services that require a reservation. Collectively, these are referred to as the “item”.

Making a Reservation

  • The customer is responsible for reviewing the description and instructions of the reservation item(s), as well as the terms related to the reservation.

  • A reservation made by the customer becomes binding once the order/payment confirmation has been sent to the email address provided by the customer.

  • The customer pays for the reservation using the payment method selected and in accordance with its terms.

  • The reservation system sends the order/payment confirmation to the email address provided by the customer.

  • The merchant is not responsible for a failed reservation; the customer must immediately contact the merchant to resolve the situation.

  • The merchant does not guarantee that the item is still available in such a situation.

  • If the item is not available, the payment will be refunded or, if possible, an alternative item will be offered.


Cancellations

  • Tickets are non-refundable.

Merchant’s Right to Cancel a Reservation

  • In the event of force majeure, the merchant may cancel the reservation. The customer will be notified of the cancellation without delay.

  • In such cases, the customer is entitled to a full refund.

  • Expenses incurred by the customer due to a reservation cancelled because of a force majeure event will not be reimbursed.


Visit

  • Guided tours begin precisely at the time indicated on the ticket.

  • By purchasing a ticket, the customer agrees to follow the visit instructions and the guidance provided by staff.

  • The Alvar Aalto House and the Alvar Aalto Studio are not accessible.

  • The customer must exercise the level of caution required at museum sites.


Compensation for Damages

  • The customer is liable for any damage they cause to the item. The person making the reservation is also responsible for any other individuals visiting the site and for any damage they cause during the reservation.

  • The merchant does not compensate for inconvenience or expenses caused by natural conditions such as insects, animals, thawing conditions, or unexpected weather changes.


Delivery Terms

Formation of the Contract

  • A binding sales contract enters into force when the order has been confirmed (order confirmation/payment confirmation).

  • The order confirmation/payment confirmation is sent to the customer by email.

Payment Terms

  • The merchant uses reliable and secure payment service providers.

  • The merchant does not store bank account or credit card information at any stage.

  • The customer agrees to comply with the terms of the selected payment method.

  • If the payment transaction has not been successfully completed at the time of ordering, the merchant will not process the order.
