Artek 85 Years Anniversary Karoliina Hellberg 50×70 poster

The Artek 85 anniversary poster captures a detail from the terrace of the home of the company’s founders, Alvar and Aino Aalto: Riihitie pots designed by Aino Aalto. The poster published in honor of Artek’s 85th anniversary was designed by Finnish artist Karoliina Hellberg.

The painting of the poster was created after Hellberg visited the Aalto’s home in Helsinki. He sketched details especially of the house’s garden, where his attention was drawn to the pots that decorated the terrace – the artist only later learned that they were from the pen of Aino Aalto and belonged to Artek’s selections. The original work, “Garden as a Room”, is made in mixed media using water and acrylic colors and markers.
