Drawing Workshop in the Studio Aalto (en)

Come and get to know the Aaltos’ in depth by attending a drawing workshop! In the drawing workshop organised by the Alvar Aalto Foundation, you can unleash your creativity and get inspired by pioneers of modernism: Alvar, Aino, and Elissa Aalto.

No previous sketching experience is required—everyone is welcome!

The workshop begins with an introduction of the Aaltos’s design philosophy and their relationship to different materials. Participants are also given the opportunity to take a look at some of their sketches. After that, it’s time to draw: you can either design your own “future classic” or sketch the surrounding space.

All necessary tools are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your favourite sketching materials along. However, it is best to leave inks and charcoals at home to protect the light-coloured surfaces of the studio.

This 90-minute workshop takes place in the iconic Studio Aalto in Munkkiniemi, Helsinki (address Tiilimäki 20, Helsinki).
